Baptist Center. My cell phone is stuck. I had an incoming call and it stuck.
Nancy says that an angel was sent to me. A repairman for AT&T came in. He knew nothing about cell phones, but he took the battery out, kept it out for ten seconds, and put it back and the phone is working. Yeah.
It is busy today. Fourteen family units served.
Came home and took a nap. Then we saddled up and made a library run on the way to the dog races. And I do mean races. Buddy saw us coming in and was waiting at the fence, barking. Chance came up, too. The dogs ran at top speed for half an hour. (LC has been clocked at 25 mph.) Even Buddy was winded altho not Chance. I think she is younger.
Blitzen's Tale
Didn't have time to do anything but run. Buddy and Chance were waiting for us. We ran and ran and ran.
Lady Chica's Tale
I was really in the mood today. Ran Buddy until he gave up. It was cold just like I like it. Then Mom and Blitz and I walked around the perimeter.
6:41 PM. I hope Pledge Drive is over. I wonder what NOVA is showing tonight.
BOOK REVIEW
Beverly Connor, *Airtight Case*
Lindsey Chamberlain, archaeologist and forensci anthropologist (the alter ego of the author). The airtight case is an old coffin found on the archaeological site. NASA takes air out of the coffin to compare greenhouse gas.
The book opens with a woman who has amnesia. She recovers her memory and is found to be Lindsey. She was buried alive. Later in the book the circumstnces are explained whereby her escape is possible.
As a way to take it easy, Lindsey is assigned by her Director to work on a farmhouse site.

Noon. Just got up. Going to rest all day. We are going to dog park soon. Then I may take a nap. Get up in time for Mystery.
I sat up reading last night, "just one more chapter" until 4 AM. See Book Review.
Dachsund meetup day at the dog park. They were all over. Otherwise the visit was calm. Neither dog was very energetic.
Blitzen's Tale
I am still tired after Friday night at Pup's. I am getting on in years, you know. I am as fast as ever but I dont have the stamina.
lady Chica's Tale
Nothing exciting going on. I raced the fence just once. I wandered around smelling things.
Uncle Mark wants to know where the pups will spend the holidays. They aren't going anywhere. Mom goes over to Aunt Martha's for Thanksgiving. Then she leaves them alone all the night before Xmas. And we all stay home to watch the Rose bowl Parade.
I took a nap. Feeling more rested. Waiting for mystery. It will be Part III of "Collision". I watched part of an old movie this aft. some guys escaping from WWII prison. It was an old movie.
BOOK REVIEW
Beverly Connor, *Dead Hunt*
See above. Reading this book is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Diane Fallon is a forensic investigator, director of Museum of Natural History, director of crime lab. The museum is accused of buying stolen Egyptian artifacts. (They did buy them by mistake and returned them to Egypt.) Then a convicted killer escapes prison. Her blood is found in Diane's apt and she is almost arrested for murder. The ending is rather unbelievable, but I enjoyed how we got there.

We got a torrent of rain but almost no thunder and lightning. Lady Chica was glad.
Later I heard that there was a terrific storm at 3 am. We were all asleep.
Blitzen has taken to sleeping under the covers, totally covered. I dont know what's with that.
Friday morn. tai chi I didn't want to get up but here I am.
About corn. My northern readers thought I was talking about hominy. Yankees eat corn dipped in lye to turn it white. In MI we ate just hominy but others ate hominy grits.
In the SW, we eat tortillas and doritos. The corn is ground up dry. The grinding bowls are limestone or something so that they put the lime in the corn. The corn is mixed with water to make masa and that is fried to make tortillas.
On our trip to Puerto Viallarta, we stopped at a place making tortillas by hand. Lea's sister, Maxine, had enuf courage to fry a tortilla.
Went to tai chi. Ate some snacks. Ready for a nap. Then dog park. It is miserably cold, 54 degrees. Gladys is laughing. I am going to wear my long under wear.
Well, I didn't wear long underwear and I almost froze to death. The dogs loved it and were so active. One owner thanked me for getting his dog to exercise. His dog was an intact male boxer.
I came home and rested for a while. Then watched Bill Moyer. Martha tells me to stop watching Bill Moyer. Watched New Tricks. about a diamond smuggler.
Lady Chica's Tale
It was fun at the park today. Mom said she was cold but it was great.
Blitzen's Tale
We had a hard time getting those old busters to run today. One little wimpy puppy was scared of us, on the other side of the fence. Maybe he doesn't know about fences yet.
BOOK REVIEW
Beverly Connor, *Dust to Dust*
I could not suspend my disbelief, but I liked this book. Diane Fallon is a forensic anthropologist. She retired from digging up mass graves around the world to become the Director of a Museum of Natural History in a small town. In due course she sets up a forensic lab for the police dept and does Crime Scene Investigation.
In this book, a body buried fifty years ago turns up. In addition, Diane is asked to help a PI investigate a closed case. The PI is former FBI.

I have 20 books from library and am reading a paperback scored from campus rec room.
Up at 11 AM. Judy is taking Ken to the dr this morning. Hence Wendy's is delayed. I am sleepy but full of energy. Sew, sew, sew. Caftans to finish, hats to sew.
Met Judy at dog park at 1 PM. I didn't look at my watch and 1.5 hours slipped by. I lecture and she listens. We have great fun. When I got home it was 3 PM. Suddenly it was 5 PM and I went to take a nap. Then it was 7 PM. So where has today gone?
Lady Chica's Tale
Nobody much at the dog park today. We met Szabo in the parking lot and I said hello. Then I just ran up and down the east fence. I was tired when we got home.
Blitzen's Tale
Nobody much at the dog park today. Mom was busy talking with Szabo's mom. Mom went off to the car and Iwas really upset she was going to leave us but she didn't. Szabo's mom says I am spoiled.
BOOK REVIEW
Beverly connor, *Dead Past*
Diane Fallon, forensic anthropologist. Dr. Fallon is the Curator of a Natural History Museum and has a crime lab in the attic. She lives in a small town where police do not have much of a budget. Down her street a house erupts. A meth lab in the basement explodes. The house had several student apts and a party was going on. All in all they found 33 bodies. The bodies are a mess. Eventually three plots turned up.
I love forensic anthropology novels. I guess Bev Connor gave up digging up Indians to write novels.
