6 am Up for a pit stop. I was having a horrible dream I dont' remember.

Blitzkrieg's Tale
Mom forgot to let me write my tale yesterday. Just cuz I was asleep. Aunt Martha came over and we took a walk in the field. Most of that funny stuff is gone.
Second Tale
There was a cute little puppy, but Mom put me on a time out. He kept wanting to play. Not many dogs there today. I was bored.

Lady Chica's Tale
Aunt Martha walked us. she walks a lot better than Mom. Mom is such a slow poke. Mom tells her she needs more exercise.
Secnd Tale
None of the big ol busters would run today. Buddy arrived just when we were going home.

9:35 am Had a difficult time sleeping in with dogs clawing me from both sides. It seems like a month since last Monday.

I did 3 minutes on the treadmill, slow and level. Burned 2 calories. (50 calories = 1 point)

Met Judy at Wendy's. I was tired out.

After a nap we went to dog park. Dogs were bored. Buddy arrived as we were leaving.

BOOK REVIEW
Bill Crider, *Murder in Four Parts*
Sheriff Dan Rhodes is invited to join the Clearview Barbershop Choir. Before he can join, the director is found murdered in his florist shop. It looks as if he got into an argument with somebody and the killer smashed him with a pipe.
Crider's books are fun to read.

Friday night
Watched the opening of the Olympic Games. I switched to PBS to watch *new Tricks* and *Waking the Dead*. Switched back in time to see the torch lit.
As usual, I did not really understand the ending of Waking the Dead.

At 9:30 Lady Xica demanded breakfast. I couldn't get back to sleep and the dogs were restless. So we went off to the dog park. The park was one big puddle overlaid with snow. There were leftover snowmen melting. It was warm enuf for me to be wearing only a sweat shirt not a jacket.
LC came home all muddy. So we had to take a shower.

Blitzkrieg's Tale
The park was weird. There was a lot of water and all of that funny stuff. I had a good time chasing dogs and monitoring a fight. Mom plans to get me a black and white striped referee shirt.

Lady Chica's tale
I came home all muddy and we had a shower. I mostly just stayed at the front fence monitoring the cars.

At two I slept until 4:30. I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, my first. Did not care for it. Will not repeat. At some point I went to sleep again until 7 PM. I am so tired from walking thru the snow.

BOOK REVIEW
Bill Crider, *Of all Sad Words* (2008)
Sheriff Dan Rhodes has revised the poem:
Of all sad words of tongue and pen
The saddest of these are:
It seemed like a good thing. [Reminds me of what Dan in Sunday School class was saying.)
Rhodes ran a Citizens Sheriff's Academy and now he has vigilantes helping his investigations. A trailer house blew up, they found a body in the woods and then a still. It seems that drinking moonshine has become a fad. But everything ends happily and the citizens help set up the web page.

October 20, 2009

Baptist Center. Only three requests for groceries and it is 9:40 am. I am sleepy. I took anti-histamine last night. Eventually we had 15 requests. One family of six and one family of seven.
I came home and took a nap as usual. Then we went to the dog park. And oh my!!!!

The motorcycle police were there. One guy keeps falling off his bike. They were practicing. Blitzen kept digging holes and digging holes. I turned my back to get a leash to put him on time out and ----- he broke out. He was running in the parking log. And a cop was chasing him down on his bike. Blitzen had sense enuf to get out of there and come back to the gate.

I talked to one cop and he said they would be practicing for three more weeks. So we are going to the park on North Davis.

I must say, the dog park is like a community. Ray went out to catch Blitz. Another lady took her dog out to see if the dog could coax Blitzen.

I am just tired out and I am going to send this. Before I forget. I may take a nap.

Blitzen's Tale
Wow. What an adventure. I got under that ol fence. I thot I would chase the motorcycles but the cycles were chasing me, and I thot I would get back inside the fence. That ol Ray came after me, too, and some girl dog.

Lady Chica's Tale
That Blitz is stupid, stupid, stupid. He crawled out under the fence. What a stupe! I had a lot of fun racing and racing and racing

BOOK REVIEW

August 9, 2009

Forgot to set the alarm but woke up naturally. 81^ at 8 AM. Off to religious services.

Lady Chica's Tale
This is the day that Mom gets all dressed up and goes away all day. Well, almost all day. She has special shoes she wears. I guess we might as well take a nap. I see Oda mae and Russ get all dressed up and go away.

Sunday school and church. We read the Psalm in Sunday School used in the sermon. I get more out of the sermon that way. Today was a good sermon about crying out from the depths. it was a Psalm.

I read an article about the intelligence of dogs. Herding dogs always come out first but I think that is a racial bias --- human race. Herding dogs are probably number one in interaction with humans. Hounds smell. That is a different kind of intelligence.
I never hear of blue heelers being tested. They are super smart but it is "feral". Lady Chica was twice as good as any puppy in puppy class. At graduation they began giving prizes to the dog coming in second bc she was getting them all. But get her home and she never heard of sit or stay or whatever.
Herding dogs have to anticipate where the sheep or cattle are going next.
Blitzen is super smart and he is a terrier/hound mix, not noted for intelligence. He is aware of anything in his environment.

Took a nap. I wake up thinking it is morning and wondering what day it is.

At 6:30 PM the dogs were getting impatient; so off we went to the dog park. Days are getin shorter. The shade crept over our table half an hour ealier. Szabo and friends turned up and we chatted. Holly arrived. She talks about herself almost exclusively. Finally Lady Chica was ready to go home. She was so tired she was almost too tired to jump in the car.

Blitzen's Tale
We stayed at the dog park for a long time. We ran so much that after a while I was too tired to get up and chase bicycles. A horse walked past and we chased him.

BOOK REVIEW
Bill Crider, *murder Among the Owls*
Older Women's League. Just a nifty title. Sheriff Dan Rhodes in TX. The neighbor's cat strays into Rhodes' kitchen, and he goes to check on the neighbor, finding her dead on her kitchen floor. I did not guess the killer's identity.
Rhodes wonders why male animals are termed, "fixed". He thinks they should be called, "broken".
