This day has roared past. I arose just in time to dress and get to tai chi. Our Teacher, Bill, was tired out from his sessions this week. So we mostly sat and did pressure points.
In the kitchen eating snacks I was loud telling Dick that I am sick of Republicans. Dick is on the conspiracy right. he calls those of us supporting Obama "Kool Aid drinkers". I assume implying a death panel.
Immediately took dogs to dog park. There was a tiny 4 pound Chinese crested male who was humping all the other dogs. It was too funny. He was only able to reach their legs. I laughed and laughed.
On the way home I went Town Talking.
Came home and took a nap. Woke just in time for Brooks and Shields on News Hour. (PBS)
Big storm just now. 7 PM
BOOK REVIEW
Diane Mott Davidson, *The Main Corpse*
culinary mystery, Goldy's Catering. I found this book slow reading. I knew the plot after the first two or three chapters. Goldy caters a do at the mouth of a gold mine about to be re-opened. I knew it was a scam. And I knew the senior partner had not absconded with the money but had been murdered.

Our trash is picked up early in the morning and my dogs bark. I thot it was getting late when it was 8:30. Off we went to dog park. Temp was 68 degrees, delightfully cool. Met Judy and Szabo. We listened to Tula's owner who complains that he has to pay two million dollars in taxes every year. Poor man!!!
Met Judy at Wendy's. Once more we discussed families.
I heard Buffy StMarie sing Universal Soldier.
Lady Chica's Tale
Ran my tail off this morning. It was cool. I felt like running.
Blitzen's Tale
Dog park was cool this morning. Szabo was there but we dont pay much attention to each other. I like his Mom. I alwasy run ovr to say hello when I see her come in.
I took a nap. Chatted with the ladies outdoors. I dont get much sewing done. Our neighbor, Marilyn, is moving to the new apartment complex for seniors down the street. I like living in a one story building. Nobody above and nobody below.
BOOK REVIEW
Diane Mott Davidson, *The Cereal Murders*
Book jacket calls this a cross beteen Mary Higgins Clark and Betty Crocker.
Goldy Shulz, caterer. First, the valedictorian of the private school is killed. This is the school attended by Goldy's son. Then various things happen. The theme of the book is the competition to get into good colleges.
I find the killer rather unbelievable.

Night of strange dreams. I woke up the first time getting out of bed to call the sheriff. I dont know what that was all about.
Next I had a dream that I was living on a commune. I didn't like any of the people that I met and it was all weird. Now 6:48 AM. Going back to bed. I wanted to get my dreams down before I forgot.
Up at 8 and over to the dog park where I met Judy. We chatted. Then back home where we have a new maintenance man. He seems to have fixed my toilet. Then off to tai chi.
After tai chi I had German potato soup at the Senior Center. and a piece of birthday cake. Yesterday Bill Rapp, our tai chi teacher, turned 90. Today Margie Threadgill is 86.
There is an old saying that worrying is plowing your field twice, once in your mind and once for real. For two or three weeks I have dreaded going to the bank. WaMu was taken over by Chase and I needed to tweak my account. Well, I stopped by and was treated so nicely.
I got a Hershey bar at Baptist Center. I hid it so well I cant find it.
The dogs and I slept all afternoon. Dang it. Pledge week and none of my programs are showing. No MI5 last night. Not even Bill Moyers tonight.
At 8:15 my sister called on Skype and we talked for half an hour. She has been reading the flu book. She worked for Parke Davis, a Pharmaceutical company, and she is so cynical about marketing. She thinks the swine flu alert is part of a marketing campaign by pharmaceuticals. Yet she and I dont agree on health care.
Blitzen's Tale
Uncle Mark thinks we ought to attend a 12 step program for barking. Mom thinks we bark appropriately. We only bark at people going past.
Lady Chica's Tale
We slept all afternoon. The park was crowded this morning. Lots of little dogs. One woman had four black dachsunds.
BOOK REVIEW
Diane Mott Davidson, *Dying for Chocolate*
Number two in the Goldilocks Catering series. This is a little bizarre. Goldy is spending the summer as a live-in cook with a weird general. he is a demolitions expert. He blows up bombs in the garden for practice. her boy friend is killed in a freak one car accident. And all's well that ends well as Tom Schulz proposes. (We know he marries her.)

We were up and off to dog park before 9 AM. Szabo heard my voice and ran across parking lot to greet me. Then he was going to climb in car to say hello to the dogs. Then we went into the dog park where Judy and I sat chatting away.
Stopped at Town Talk for groceries on the way home. Found some strange bread made w/o gluten. I stop for dog food. Now 11:33 AM.
Then I took a nap. Upon waking my first thought was: "I have missed MI5". Leslie B and I dined out at Outback. I have quesidillas for my entre. I am addicted. Tonight we mostly talked about books we have read or are reading. As we left, Leslie asked how I intended to spend my evening. See above.
Lady Chica's Tale
Today was so boooring. Nothing going on at the dog park. Mom slept all day. We did have the lawn mowers to bark at.
Blitzen's Tale
LC said it. Boring. We did have fun barking at the lawn mowers. Mom thot she was sleeping. She went out again tonight. I wish she would read some more in Hank the Cowdog.
John Erikson, *Hank the Cowdog $17*
The case of the Car-Barkaholic-Dog. We firmly believe that despite the illustrations, Hank is a blue heeler. So far in the book, Hank has "syruptitiously" taken a ride into town when Slim takes the pickup in for groceries. Hank explains that syrup is "slow and slippery"
BOOK REVIEW
Diane Mott Davidson, *Catering to No One*
First novel in Goldilocks Catering series. Goldy in Aspen Meadows, CO, left her abusive husband and started a catering service. At a shindig she is catering, her ex-fa-in-law is given rat poison. So her catering service is closed down until the murder and several subsequent murders are solved.
Hugs, Dr. Liz

Up at 7:15 am and off to Baptist Center. Google Blitzen's Tale.
Lady Chica is maturing. She made her first Grrr. Blitzen is the king of Grrrr, night and day. Lady Chica was lying at the foot of the bed when Blitzen leaped on and LC went Grrrr. Usually Blitzen is bed guarding.
Business was slow at Baptist Center. We only served four families. First week of the month. We are not giving clothing during August because somehow we have children underfoot. And we give school uniforms August 19.
I came home and took my nap. Did hand sewing until seven when we went to dog park. At 7:15 PM exactly, shade falls over the table where I want to sit. Dogs think this is their territory. Actually the evening was cool altho temp is 95^.
lady Chica's Tale
I didn't do much running tonight. I just wasn't up to it. After a while gracie's mom came over and sat at our table. I jumped on the table and gave her a kiss to thank her for the bones she brings us.
Blitzen's Tale
I jumped up on the table, too, and gave Gracie's mom a kiss. Mostly we just sort of wandered around tonight.
BOOK REVIEW
Daine Mott Davidson, *The Grilling Season*
