Friday is a busy day. Up at 8 and off to the dog park where I chatted with Judy. Then off to tai chi. Senior Center was serving hot soup for lunch. Made a libray run. Absolutely need a nap.

And so I did. Now six and Newshour is coming on. Friday is my tv night.

I told Martha that I got depressed watching Bill Moyer's Journal and she said to stop watching!!

Lady Chica's Tale
I spent most of the day sleeping. we went to the park early this morning and I got some running in. We usually see Szabo and his mom. His mom and my mom sat on a bench and talked.

Blitzen's Tale
I think I am getting old. I slept most of the day. Yesterday was really a hard day. Did some running this morning, chasing the lawn mower running on the big dog side. It took that buster a long time to get that lawn mowed.

BOOK REVIEW
Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, *Cemetery Dance*
I quit halfway thru bc it moved so slow. Or should that be slowly? Series features FBI Special Agent Pendergast who seems to be modeled on detectives of the thirties. Reminds me of Ellery Queen. He has a buddy who is a homicide detective. One of their friends, a reporter, is killed by a zombii.
I peeked at the last chapter and the zombii is a hoax, Hollywood makebup. from the dust jacket I think a feature of this series is esoteric unmasked. Pendergast is from the Louisiana Bayou country.

Determined to get some sewing done today.

Took a three hour nap. Other than that I have been sewing.

Lady Chica's Tale
We had a hard day today. We spent about two hours at the dog park. Then we had to protect our turf from the lawnmowers for most of the afternoon. And mom was just taking a nap.

Blitzen's Tale
Ol Chica said it. We had a hard day. Acourse we took naps after the lawn mowers left. They took a long time today blowing and something.

5 AM Woke from a dream. I did not understand most of the dream. I rescued a kitten. I was somewhere. Some kids had two kittens and wanted to play with mine. Their fa intimidated me. So I was so distressed. I worried about my kitten. I got my kitten back as the dream ended. [In the Grilling Season the heroine rescues a kitten.]

We were up and out to the dog park by 9 AM where we met Judy and Szabo. The dogs didn't have much to chase and lay around most of the hour. It was cool in the shade. Temp is going up to 100 every day and much hotter in the sun.
I came home and slept for three hours. Now 3 PM. I intend to sew like mad for the next two hours. I am stitching the edges of pockets. I have ten shirts underway!!!!!

Up at 7:15 am and off to Baptist Center. Google Blitzen's Tale.

Lady Chica is maturing. She made her first Grrr. Blitzen is the king of Grrrr, night and day. Lady Chica was lying at the foot of the bed when Blitzen leaped on and LC went Grrrr. Usually Blitzen is bed guarding.

Business was slow at Baptist Center. We only served four families. First week of the month. We are not giving clothing during August because somehow we have children underfoot. And we give school uniforms August 19.

I came home and took my nap. Did hand sewing until seven when we went to dog park. At 7:15 PM exactly, shade falls over the table where I want to sit. Dogs think this is their territory. Actually the evening was cool altho temp is 95^.

lady Chica's Tale
I didn't do much running tonight. I just wasn't up to it. After a while gracie's mom came over and sat at our table. I jumped on the table and gave her a kiss to thank her for the bones she brings us.

Blitzen's Tale
I jumped up on the table, too, and gave Gracie's mom a kiss. Mostly we just sort of wandered around tonight.

The dogs woke me up before the alarm rang. So off to the dog park by 8:15 where we met Judy and Szabo. Cool in the morning.

Judy and I chatted for an hour at the dog park and then almost two hours at Wendy's. We discussed such esoteric subjects as communion and transubstant (sp?). Also politics and health care reform.
Made a library run. Now 1:34 pm. Soon I will take a nap.

Lady Chica's Tale
We had a lot of fun this morning. First there was a big hound to chase along the fence. Then the lawn mower was running back and forth in the big dog side. Szabo was there and Mom was talking to his mom.

Blitzen's Tale
Mom put a new scarf on me this morning. I have finally gotten over my tummy ache. I dont know what I ate. It was fun running this morning. It was cool. I mean temperature wise.

I took a nap. I have been busy cutting out parts for more shirts, caftan shirts. As if I needed more. I am addicted to shirts. How about a 12 step program? I have no power over shirts and my life has become unmanageble.

BOOK REVIEW
I have read the first chapter of 8 or 10 books. I cant seem to get into them. I am halfway thru *Cemetary Dance* but it is a big thick book.

How can dogs find the exact center of the bed without a ruler or sextant?
I got to bed at 11 pm and had eight hours of sleep. This wonderful weather. Only 73^. Off to SS and church.
I dreamed that I was trying to quarantine people. That book on the Flu really got to me.

At Sunday School we again did lectio divina. We had a guest preacher. This was 25th reunion of Chapel Choir (high school kids). This man was one of the original kids in that choir. Then I had lunch with the gang.

Came home and took a nap. We went to dog park at 6. I go to dog park once a day. The big white dog was there who loves to run. My dogs ran until they were tired. As we were leaving Szabo and his folks were coming in.

Now I am about to watch Wallender on Mystery Theatre on PBS. Channel 13 here.

BOOK REVIEW
Kwei Quartey, *Wife of the Gods*
Police procedural in Ghana. Inspector Darko Dawson is our new hero. He loses his temper and beats up people. The wife of the gods is not necessary to the plot. It lends a bit of local color. Young women are given to the priest as wife of the gods. A young woman is found dead in the woods. Interesting plot and lots of beliefs.

William L. Shirer, *The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich*
No possibility of reading the entirety of this huge book. The book begins with Hitler being appointed chancellor and a biography of Hitler. I had not thought about him being of great intelligence. He read a lot. autodidactic

Saturday morning. I pulled myself out of bed at 8 am. I had to have some coffee. While I chugalugged the rains came down. Short shower. It is still cool (81 degrees) so we will go later.
My quilt blocks are ready to have a strip pinned on. I take all the blocks and pin a stripe. Then I sew all blocks. Then press all blocks. Most of my red and black are ready. So I have only 32 left.

I took a nap. Then we went to the dog park at noon. Almost nobody there. I took dogs to Big Dog side where there is a long run along the road. Blitzen and Chica ran back and forth once, chasing a sooter. Then gave it up. I put Blitzen on a leash so he couldn't escape under the fence. By the time we reached the gate lady Chica had beaten us. I took both into the small dog park where they flaked on the table.

Lady Chica's Tale
Mom took us into the Big Dog side. It is really more fun to run there bc it is longer. Then we went on the Little Dog side. Nobody much there this morning. Mostly I have been sleeping.

Blitzen's Tale
We had a run for a little while. No big bruisers around. Guess they are wimps, cant come out when it's wet. Nothing much moves on Saturday.

After coming home I slept for two or three hours and dreamed about burying dead bodies. I think it may have rained again.

If you want to see my blog (which is a copy of this) got to Google -- only Google -- and type:

"Blitzen" and "Chica"

I find it absolutely fascinating.
